NQ Series Round 4 Update.
Practice Friday - 10am to 4pm - Entry via comp. Please note there are some minor things we need to do to the track, ie testing / modifying start lights, signage, herringbone grid etc that will be occurring during the day. Expecting interruptions to be minimal.
Camping - Refer the map for where you can camp. Basically no camping on the asphalt pit area. Powered ($50) unpowered ($40) for the duration of the event. There are two showers in the main building. Water on site is not potable (bore water) and cannot be used to fill water tanks etc. The only powered sites are near the main building. Pay for Camping at Canteen.
Pitting - Please refer attached map, reserved areas are for officials etc. OK to set up under the existing shade structures but do not screw or peg into the asphalt. Please be considerate of other racers. Leave access paths clear. Please do not take up three or four pit shelters when you need one. Fill the shelters closest to the outgrid first. No tyre dumping on site. Please avoid spilling fuels on site and immediately wipe up any spills on asphalt.
Canteen will be operating.
Practice and Race order for Saturday.
*** Sub Regs show incorrect Race format ***
NQ Series format is Qualy, Four Heats AND a final.

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately we are forced to cancel this weekends race meeting. With such low nominations with so many people away including many of our officials it is not viable to run with only 1 or 2 people in each class.
The call has been made now rather than later as we had arranged for an official to travel up from down south who’s time we do not want to waste including an day off work to drive up to Cairns. Any pre paid nominations will be refunded in the coming days.
There will however be practice day from 1145 to 3 for those that still want to hit the track. The social karting activity is now on KOMP.
Regards
Executive & race committee.

We have arranged a tyre bolting session in Cairns.
Come along and join in the fun!
Monday (20th May) from 3.30pm till around 6.00pm.
Where – Cairns Tyre Specialists McLeod Street Opposite Myers
What to Bring – 10mm sockets and spanners, battery drills, impact drivers and batteries, covered shoes.
Club will provide tyre burs and angle wrenches (we will have two wrenches so if you have one also bring that) and maybe a cold beverage at then end of the day.
We are only going to tie them into stacks 600mm+ high, which we will then load into a truck and take to Mako and then bolt the stacks together.
The process is quite easy and the tyres at Cairns Tyre Specialists are larger tyres so we should only need 3 tyres for a 600mm stack.
Big thanks to Craig Beehag for arranging this and for Cairns Tyres Specialists for allow us access to their premises after hours and a truck to transport the tyres.

Hi Everyone, we need to have a working bee this Thursday from 4pm onwards to do track set up for Saturdays race meeting.
We have arranged for a sweeper to come out and clean the burnout pad (in and out grids) on Friday so not going to 100% set up the burnout pad, to allow the grids to be cleaned with ease, but we can still do barriers, bunting, start line etc.
Please let Julian know if you can make it to help out, ph 0439736825

Plenty of ups and downs for both Alex and Luca today at @emeraldkartclub
Alex started the day strong, qualifying 8th in a strong field of 20 Junior Lights, while misfortune meant that Luca did not set a qualifying time and started heat 1 from last.
A very unfortunate incident resulted in a DNF for Alex in heat 3, while Luca struggled with kart setup in the early heats but was able to still claw his way through the field. The boys starting positions for the final was Alex out of 17th and Luca out of 14th.
Excellent racing by both boys in the final saw them both improve their positions.
Results for the final
Luca Seeto - P7 (highest finish of 7 NQ Juniors)
Alex Boscarini - P13

Another successful working bee today. Thank you to those that could attend this afternoon
Jeremy Evans, Nathan Hole, Scott Richards, Damien Schneider, Ian Seeto, Craig Beehag and of course King Julian.
Also a big thank you to Craig for arranging the additional racking on the trailer. This will make setup and pack up a lot easier.
Remember there is still plenty to do in the morning before practice commences, if you can spare the extra time please come along a bit earlier and lend a hand.
